I think I first fell in love with the art of tattooing based on my early obsession with punk rock,
skateboard graphics and one story my Grandmother told me about her "Uncle Frank" that was covered in tattoos and always wore long sleeves.
I started learning the art and craft of tattooing in 2003, and did my first few pieces that year.
In 2004, with a little training and half an apprenticeship, I started tattooing in a busy street shop where I had to get good, fast.
I was lucky enough to have a lot of trusting and motivating clientele, people that really pushed me as an artist early on, and the opportunities to learn from artists in Florida, Texas, and Tennessee.
I take tattooing very seriously and try to take in as many influences as I can. As seriously as I take tattooing, I like tattoos that tell a story, even if that story is hilarious, and ensure you will have an experience that is unparalleled.
In early 2010, I opened my own private workspace, Brainwave Tattoo, in an effort to concentrate more on the custom art that my clientele deserve. That same year I was awarded "Best of the Suncoast 2010, Best Tattoo Artist" in the Creative Loafing Magazine Readers Poll.
